Who is my TDU (or TDSP)?

In Texas, your Transmission and Distribution Utility (TDU) is determined by your physical location or service address. See below for a list of major cities and Texas and what TDU serves that area:

Centerpoint Energy

  • Greater Houston and most surrounding areas

Oncor Electric Delivery

  • Dallas / Fort Worth Metroplex

  • Waco

  • Killen

  • Round Rock

  • Pflugerville

  • Tyler

  • Wichita Falls

  • Temple / Killeen

  • Midland

  • Odessa

AEP North

  • San Angelo

  • Abilene

AEP South

  • Corpus Christi

  • Victoria

  • Laredo

If not listed above, you can do the following:

  • Check Your Electricity Bill - Your monthly electricity bill will list the name of your TDU.

  • Check Your NextVolt Energy MyAccount

  • Call NextVolt Energy

Remember, while you can choose your REP in deregulated areas of Texas, you cannot choose your TDU. The TDU is determined by your geographical location.

Also, keep in mind that not all cities and areas in Texas have electric choice. Some cities, such as Austin, San Antonio, The Woodlands, Beaumont, and El Paso do not have a REP/TDU relationship.
